Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shot – Immune Booster

by havedresswilltravel

For Christmas this year my family bought me an Omega 8006 juicer. Besides juicing it also makes pasta, nut butter, salsa… I’ve been making juice almost every day. This week I’ve been fighting off a cold thanks to a combination of the crazy Tennessee winter weather and smokey bars… And also staying up too late in those smokey bars. I’ve been having a lemon/ginger/turmeric tonic every morning with a big glass of green juice, usually cucumber, lemon, ginger, kale or spinach, celery, green apple and a little mint. The tonic is good for a cold and the combination of tonic and the green juice provides all kinds of healthy benefits.

Lemon Ginger Turmeric Shot – Immune Booster

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and is high in anti-oxidants; it will help detox your liver and helps prevent fatigue and promotes smooth, healthy skin. Lemon is really high in Vitamin C and will help alkalize your body – if you are a coffee addict like me, drinking a cup of warm water with lemon juice in the morning can help to balance the acidity. It’s also a natural detoxifier. Ginger root is anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and an anti-histamine; it can also help to settle your stomach. That being said, this shot is a strong taste so I sip it slowly. You can also add a couple drops of oil of oregano for an extra boost of wellness – it fights off everything! Allergies, sinus pain, cold/flu, bacterial infections, canker sores, UTIs, arthritis… The list goes on. It’s incredibly potent so I don’t recommend taking more than a few drops diluted in the tonic or water. You can also find it as a pill (much easier to take!). Cafe Gratitude in LA has this shot available as the Brave. 🙂
